Journal Profile and Editorial Focus

«der informierte arzt» is a monthly Swiss medical journal publishing continuing education–oriented articles in German from all fields of general internal medicine. While primarily targeting general practitioners, it also addresses physicians working in hospitals.

Each issue is thematically structured, including regular rotating forums on topics such as cardiology, geriatrics, diabetology, pulmonology, obesity, and neurology, along with congress reports and the Journal Watch section, which highlights important clinical studies.

Editorial Structure

Topic selection and content planning are carried out in close collaboration with our Hausärzte-Board, a panel of practicing general practitioners. Articles are typically commissioned from renowned academic experts. Unsolicited manuscripts are welcome and undergo the same editorial procedures.
